Susanne Walker

It is with great sorrow that the family of Susanne Lorraine Walker (Holland) announce that she left her earthly body on January 06, 2024 at the London Health Sciences Center. There was a greater plan orchestrated at the time of her gentle and quick passing which had a friend/nurse, Nikki Lyons, and family by her side. Susanne had a lengthy battle with cancer, during which her will to live outlasted many prognoses and carried her through the medical tests, procedures, and obstacles that are part of that journey. Susanne was born to Howard and Arnetta Holland (Erickson) on August 20, 1955, in Chatham Ontario, the youngest of four siblings. She will be reunited in Heaven with her parents and

siblings, the late Mary Faubert (Ronald) and John Holland, as well as many important family and friends that departed before her. She is predeceased by her in-laws, James and Gwendolyn Walker and her brother-in-law Dr. Kenneth Walker.  She has left behind her dear sister, Sherrell Snobelen (late Keith Crawford) (late Terry Snobelen) and her sisters-in-law Linda Rossignal (Dan) and Debbie-Lee Walker, and her husband of 45 years, Bradley Walker.

Susanne met her husband & life partner, Bradley Walker, at a church youth group at Holy Trinity Anglican Church during high school in the early 1970’s. Holy Trinity Anglican Church is a religious thread that ran through the hearts of both Brad and Susanne’s families to weave them into one. They were married at the church in 1978.

Susanne and Bradley worked in the banking industry and moved to many communities within Southwestern Ontario where their village of friends continued to grow: Forest, Shedden, Leamington, Amherstburg and finally Glencoe. Susanne had a high work ethic connecting with her clients as if they were friends or family.

Susanne was a loving mother to Stephanie (Evan) McCallum of Dutton and Heather (Eric) Dehn of London, Ontario. She adored, and was adored by, her grandchildren: Brycen, Taryn, Zachary, Walker, Landyn and Camryn. She maintained a close and connected relationship with extended family including cousins, nieces and nephews, and her family was of utmost importance to her. She was arranging family get-togethers and purchasing heartfelt Christmas gifts, and baking everyone’s favourite desserts right up until her final days.

Susanne had a vast number of friends which became family. This became extremely evident in her final months at home, with her busy social calendar. This love and support was shown by the daily visits which often overlapped. Susanne excitedly connected with friends of every geography face-to-face, over the telephone and via social media. She enjoyed connecting with friends during walks, meals and on the golf course.

Heartfelt gratitude is sent to Dr. Welch London Regional Cancer Program, her community Nurse, Stephanie Snauwaert and the multitude of other healthcare professionals that supported Susanne and her family along the way.

Visitation will be held at the Van Heck Funeral Home, Glencoe on Friday January 12th, 2024 from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m.  where the funeral service will be held on Saturday January 13th at 11 AM. Interment at Oakland Cemetery. Memorial donations may be made to London Regional Cancer Program, Alzheimer Society Southwest Partners or Ontario Federation of Cerebral Palsy (OFCP). Interment at Oakland Cemetery.

Momma-we will continue to feel the warmth of your love and support surrounding us, and we will miss your earthly presence, Thank you for a life well-lived.
