Suddenly at his home in Zurich, on June 25, 2026, Bernard Francis Mitchell passed away in his 95th year. Predeceased by his wife Donna nee Dodd (2001), his daughter Deborah (2011), and his son Bernie Jr. (2017). Dear father to Danny (Debbie) Mitchell, Dennis (Pamela) Mitchell, Dale (Roxanne) Mitchell, Dean Mitchell, Anne Mitchell, Rachel (James) Smardon, and Chris Mitchell. Bernard will be missed by his grandchildren Sherri Lyn Hoffan, Catherine Shawnisty Mitchell, Sean David Allen Mitchell, Clive Caleb Stewart-Mitchell, Alexander James Smardon, Marisa Ramandt, Joshua Ramandt, and Ariana Mitchell.
Bernie is also survived by great grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews. He cherished them all. He will especially be missed by his many friends at Maplewoods Apartments. Following Bernie’s wishes, cremation has taken place and a memorial graveside service will take place at a later date. Memorial donations may be made to Canadian Cancer Society or to Community Living South Huron.
