Lise Landsborough

Liselotte Landsborough passed away at her home in Wardsville of a sudden heart attack on the morning of the 27th of January, in her 82nd year. She was born in Copenhagen, Denmark on March 23rd, 1943.

Wife of Robert Charles Landsborough born July 5th, 1938 and passed away January 1st, 2021. Dear mother of Chris Landsborough, Paul Landsborough of London, Ontario, and Scott Landsborough of Edmonton, Alberta. Grandmother of Gregory, Alex, Jeremy, and Payton. Lise was the youngest of five siblings to Lener and Ruth Frederiksen , née Johansen. Three siblings passed away early in their teenage years. Predeceased by sister Kirsten Genthner.

Lise was a Registered Practical Nurse. She enjoyed working as a visiting nurse for the Victorian Order of Nurses (VON). She also spent time working in various nursing homes, and Lakeshore Psychiatric Hospital. For a period in the 1980s/1990s, she was a school bus driver. Even there she ended up using nursing skills driving special needs autistic children.

Both Bob and Lise were involved in various aspects of the United Church of Canada. They were both Elders and board members of the United Church in Newmarket, and the United Church in Acton. Both enjoyed singing in the Church Choirs. Lise kept the books and represented the Wardsville United Church at the Presbytery and General Council.

Lise’ other hobbies included arts and crafts clubs, local nature clubs, and the local choir, The Voice Prints. Lise had a special fondness for her dogs. This was something passed on by her father. From her earliest years a canine companion (or two) held a special place in her heart. Most recently she is survived by her two Border collies, Ellie and Sam.

Cremation has taken place. A Celebration of Life will be held at Van Heck Funeral Home, 172 Symes Street, Glencoe on Thursday , July 10th 2025 at 1:30 p.m.

Ed and Marilyn Hubbard (Updated)

We are celebrating the lives and marriage of Edward Hubbard, 84 years (June 4, 1941 – Sept. 14, 2024) and Marilyn ‘Bunny’ Hubbard, 84 years (Dec. 13, 1941 – April 15, 2025.

They were dear and treasured parents to Scott (Laura) of West Lorne and Chris (Carol) of Manitoba. Beloved grandparents to Christy (Mike), Tyler (Lily), Matthew (Megan), and Calla and great-grandparents to James. Cherished step-grandparents to Kate (Zack), Michelle and step great-grandparents to Charlie. They will be missed by Marilyn’s sisters Patricia Pole, Bonnie (Gary) Berdan, Bette Mullis, Barb (Alec) Edwards, and Ed’s brother Bob (Louise) Faulkenham. Bunny and Ed will also be remembered fondly by many nieces, nephews, and friends.

Following Ed and Bunny’s wishes, family and friends are invited to their joint Celebration of Life. On Saturday, June 28 from 11a.m. – 12:30p.m. please join us for a light lunch and refreshments at Van Heck Funeral Home, 172 Symes Street, Glencoe. David Little

On June 18, 2025, David Little of Glencoe passed away on his 73rd Birthday . Dear father to Grant Little (Jenna) and Ashley Little. Cherished grandfather of Levi and Lawson. David will be missed by his friend and partner Barb, brother Donald (Linda) and his nephews Michael, Stephen and Kevin. Predeceased by his parents Murray (2004) and Jean (2005) Little. Kenneth MacMillan

Peacefully at Four Counties Health Services, Newbury on Thursday, June 12, 2025, Kenneth David MacMillan of Glencoe and formerly of Tillsonburg passed away in his 84th year.  Predeceased by his wife Lorraine Joyce (Todd) MacMillan and his parents Clarence and Annie (Wallace) MacMillan from Ingersoll.  Dear father of Michael MacMillan of Tillsonburg, Lisa Desnomie of Moose Jaw and Todd and Caysha MacMillan of Glencoe.  Loved by his grandchildren Wyonna, Myles, Shannon, Sara, Taylor, Kennedy, Joey and Maddison and great-grandchildren Summer, Bradlyn, Ryann, Maverick, Paisley, Robin, Olivia and Isabelle.  Also survived by his brother Peter MacMillan of North Bay and sister Linda Easton of Calgary.  Predeceased by his siblings Pat, Jim, Don, Jack, Marg, Mike, Joan and Leona.  In keeping with Ken’s wishes cremation has taken place and his family will remember him privately. Connie Arn

Peacefully after a brief illness, at L.H.S.C. Victoria Campus, Connie Helen Arn passed away June 10, 2025 in her 73rd year. Loving daughter of Margaret Arn (Bardwell) and the late Harold T. Arn. Sister of Robert and Susan of London, David and Carolyn of West Lorne. Aunt of Greg and Molly, Alison, Dylan, Dane and Tammy. Great Aunt of Austin & Lexi, Derek, Emily, Logan and Owen. Connie was an elementary school teacher, having taught in Glencoe, Mount Brydges and London, and was a Past President of the Ontario Elementary Teachers Federation.Interment has taken place. All are welcome to gather with Connie’s family and friends at Arn Funeral Home,193 Shackleton St. Dutton,(519-762-2416) on Saturday, June 21, 2025 11:00am -2:00 pm. Donald Durfy

At Victoria Hospital, London on Wednesday, June 11, 2025, Donald Warren Durfy of Glencoe passed away in his 86th year.  Predeceased by his wife Ella C. Durfy (Kulich).  Son of the late George and Fannie Durfy.  Don was born in Woodgreen, Ontario.  He is survived by his 3 sisters Barbara (Robert) McGregor of London, Mary Ann (Harold) Miller of Wardsville and Carol Lynne  (Richard) Southon of New Brunswick.  He will be fondly remembered by several nieces and nephews.  He was a Member of Glencoe Elks Lodge 507.  Funeral Service will be held on Monday, June 16, 2025 at 1:30 p.m. at the Van Heck Funeral Home, 172 Symes Street, Glencoe with visitation one hour prior to the service (12:30 to 1:30 p.m.). Ruth Ann Amels

Peacefully at her home in Glencoe, on Tuesday June 10 , 2025, Ruth Ann Amels passed away in her 82nd year. Beloved wife of Ken. Dear mother to the late Louanne Gibbons, Tammy (Lawrence) Duquette, Michelle (Ryan) Thomas. Loving Nana to Amy (Josh), Keith (Danny), Austin, Peyton , Georgia and great-nana to Blake. Nancy McEachren

Nancy Eleanor McEachren (nee Bishop) passed away on Sunday June 8, 2025 at Four Counties Health Services in Newbury, Ontario. She was 81 years in age. Survived by her two sons, Chris and Michael (Melanie) and two grandchildren, Robbie and Emmett. Nancy was born in Becher (Sombra Township), Ontario in October 1943 to Harold Maurice Bishop and Anna Fern Gregory.  When she was a young girl, Nancy and her family moved to a farm outside of Strathroy, Ontario.  Nancy described herself as a “Caradoc farm girl who loved to dig in the dirt, climb apple trees, play pond hockey, read books, and travel (but not fly!).”  Upon graduation from the University of Western Ontario, Nancy became a secondary school teacher at Glencoe District High School.  Nancy taught English and Physical Education. After taking some time off to raise two sons, Nancy resuming teaching, this time at West Elgin Secondary School.  After her sons were grown and out of the home, Nancy tutored local children in English and grammar. In her spare time, Nancy helped to manage the family farm, raise and chauffeur children, cheered herself hoarse at hockey and baseball games, and volunteered with Quad County Support Services – an association which supports adults with developmental disabilities in the area in which she resided.  She was also a voracious reader and a frequent patron of the Glencoe Public Library.  Nancy enjoyed many bus trips with her oldest son, Chris, as well as car trips to Eganville, Ontario.  Despite her fear of flying, Nancy resolutely accompanied her family on vacations to St. Martin, Nassau, Bahamas, and Nova Scotia. Following Nancy’s wishes cremation has taken place. Visitation will be Thursday, June 12 from 5-8 p.m. at the Van Heck Funeral Home, 172 Symes Street, Glencoe where a Memorial Service will be held on Friday, June 13 at 11 a.m . Memorial donations may be made to Quad County Support Services.
