Peacefully at his home in Glencoe, after a difficult battle with cancer, on Monday, December 11, 2023, Gerhard Jachs passed away in his 71st year. Survived by his loving “best” wife Andrea. Dear father to his beloved daughters Victoria (Derek) Authier and Natasha (Joel Stevens) Jachs. Opa to Kira Autumn. Also survived by his siblings Alois (Ingrid) Jachs and Sieglinde (Franz) Bruckler and brother-in-laws Johann (Petra) Eschlboeck, Heinrich Eschlboeck and Albert (Darlene) Eschlboeck. Gerhard will be missed by many nieces and nephews. Predeceased by his parents Alois and Amalia. Gerhard enjoyed his daily routine of taking his cherished dog companion, Tyson on a car ride to enjoy the local rural roads. He also enjoyed watching the Toronto Maple Leafs and collecting different antique items and either repurposing or refinishing them. Gerhard also had an attentiveness to Andrea’s birthday floral arrangement in which he would choose each flower the florist would have to use, as well as helping Victoria and Natasha pick out and purchase dresses for important occasions with honest criticisms and caring nature. Following Gerhard’s wishes cremation has taken place. In lieu of flowers, family would like you plant a tree or lend a helping or caring hand to someone in need.
