At Margaret’s Place Hospice, Dundas, on Monday, December 11, 2023, Annie Caroline “Carrie” Gerrish (Hailstone) of Freelton passed away in her 95th year. Predeceased by her husband Robert Gerrish “Bobby G” (1993) and dear friend Hugh Mills (2021). Beloved mother of Judy Merryman (Gord) and loving Nana of Rick and Cathy (Kevin) and great-Nana of Paige, Brett, Calvin and Hannah. Also survived by her sisters-in-law Rosemary Hailstone and Audrey Hailstone, as well as several nieces, nephews and dear cousins in Northern Ireland. Missed by her furry friend Oreo and will be fondly remembered by the Mills family. Predeceased by her parents Walter and Margaret Hailstone and brothers Bill, Jim, Bob and Harry. Funeral service will be held at the Van Heck Funeral Home, 172 Symes Street, Glencoe on Friday, December 15, 2023 at 1:00 p.m. Visitation one hour prior to the service. Rev. Deb Dolbear-Van Bilsen officiating. Interment to follow at the Oakland Cemetery. Carrie’s family would like to acknowledge the exceptional care from the Nurses, PSW’s and Homecare staff over the years and especially the staff at Margaret’s Place for making her final days comfortable.
