At Four Counties Health Services, Newbury on Sunday, June 10, 2018, Margaret Elizabeth Hamilton (nee Burt) of Glencoe passed away peacefully with her family by her side, in her 91st year. Beloved wife of the late Rev. Canon George Hamilton (2011). Dear mother of Mary Hamilton, Michael (Donna Jean) Hamilton and Timothy (Jeannette) Hamilton. Loving grandmother of Joshua and Megan Hamilton. Also survived by her sister Doris Slone in England. Predeceased by 2 brothers Kendal and Peter Burt. Margaret was a Registered Nurse. She served with the Canadian Red Cross Outpost Hospitals and V.O.N. (Toronto and Montreal). She was a Missionary nurse at Old Crow, Yukon and Fort Simpson, N.W.T. Her nursing career took her to Strathroy Middlesex General Hospital, Pelee Island Medical Clinic, Babcock Nursing Home, Wardsville and Quad County Association (Glencoe). She was a member of the Glencoe Book Club and organist at St. John’s Anglican and Trinity United Churches in Glencoe. Relatives and friends will be received at the Van Heck Funeral Home, 172 Symes Street, Glencoe on Wednesday from 2-4 & 7-9 p.m. Funeral Service will be held at St. John’s Anglican Church, Glencoe on Thursday June 14 at 11 a.m. Cremation to follow with interment at Avondale Cemetery, Stratford. Memorial donations may be made to St. John’s Anglican Church, Glencoe.
