Garland McIlwain

At Twin Lakes Terrace, Sarnia on Monday, April 29, 2024, Garland Ralph McIlwain passed away in his 95th year. Born in Alvinston and farmed in Plympton/Wyoming most his life. Garland is survived by his wife Patricia (nee Young) of nearly 72 years.  Dear father of Sherry Morrison (Gary), Christine Mathers (Dave), George (Susan), Lynn, Gary and Bill.  Also survived by his grandchildren Connor Mathers (Julie), Melissa Bush (Adam), Lana McIlwain, Devon McIlwain, Meghan and Colleen McIlwain and great-grandsons Owen and Cole. He will be missed by his canine companion Benji. Predeceased by his sister Evelyn Wackerle. Garland was a farmer, carpenter and had a long career as a Process Operator at Shell Oil. The family would like to express their appreciation to Petrolia Hospital Continuing Care Staff and Dr. Daniel and a thank you to the staff at Twin Lakes Terrace and Dr. Dave Kim.   In keeping with Garland’s wishes, a family graveside service will be held at the Alvinston Cemetery.  Memorial donations may be made to Sarnia & District Humane Society or Bluewater Centre for Raptors Rehabilitation
