It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Karin Erika Mitton (Dickie), in the comfort of her home in Newbury Ontario, on May 29, 2026, where Erika had lived a peaceful and happy life surrounded by family and friends.
Erika leaves behind her son Jacob, her pride and joy, and cherished daughter, Julia. She is also survived by her loving siblings, Giselle and Jean-Pierre; her sister-in-law, Kim; her former husband, father of her children, and friend Garry Dickie; and her faithful dog, Charlie.
Erika had a gift for bringing people together and formed long-lasting friendships wherever life took her, including Sherbrooke, Ottawa, Calgary, London, and Newbury. Erika brought warmth, laughter, and an open heart to everyone she met. She possessed a rare and beautiful personality with a natural capacity for connection, nurturing, helping others, and offering empathy. Erika will also be deeply missed by her cousins in Ottawa and in Sweden, her colleagues in London, and the friends and community members whose lives she touched. Erika’s spirit, love, and energy will live on in the hearts of all who knew her.
A Celebration of Life will be held on Friday, July 31, from 11:00 a.m.-2:00 p.m. at the Civic Garden Complex, 625 Springbank Drive, London, Ontario. Family and friends are invited to attend and share memories of Erika’s life. In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to Community Living London at www.cll.on.ca.
