Jim Cullen

At Nithview Long Term Care, New Hamburg on Wednesday, May 6, 2026, James Edward “Jim” Cullen formerly of Glencoe passed away in his 87th year.  Beloved husband of 64 years to Mary Ann (Tanner) Cullen.  Much loved father of John Cullen, Shelley (Greg) Heipel and the late Ron (Tammy) Cullen (2015).  Also survived by his grandchildren Jonathan (Stephanie), Bailey, Sydney, Marlie, Eric, Chris, Jordan and Reilly (Alexa).  Predeceased by his brothers Fred and Frank and sisters Beatrice and Christine.  Fondly remembered by the Tanner family. 

Jim was a wonderful person who lit up a room. He was a vibrant and memorable presence who made people feel welcome and was always ready to lend a hand.  We remember him for his jovial spirit and the twinkle of kindness he carried in his eyes. Visitation will be held on Tuesday, May 12 from 6-8 p.m. at the Van Heck Funeral Home, 172 Symes Street, Glencoe where the Memorial Service will be held on Wednesday at 11 a.m.  Rev. Deb Dolbear-Van Bilsen officiating.  Inurnment to follow at Longwood Cemetery, Melbourne.  Memorial donations may be made to Nithview Home.

Jeffery Graham

Suddenly at his home on Friday, May 1, 2026 Jeffery Scott Graham of Glencoe passed away in his 57th year.  Beloved husband of Jennifer (Wight) Graham.  Loving father of Chase.  Dear son of Keith and Gloria Graham and brother of Barry (Tanja) Graham.  Son-in-law of Rob (late Françine) Wight and brother-in-law of Michelle.  Uncle to Ashley, Rashelle (Ben), Kyle, Brittany, Jake (Samantha), Mike (Abby), Savannah (Zachary) and Brooklynn and great uncle to Paisley.  Jeff was well known in Southwestern Ontario Harness Racing as a Standardbred horse trainer.  He also had been a London Free Press Carrier in Glencoe, Wardsville and Newbury for 23 years.  In keeping with his wishes cremation has taken place.  A Celebration of Life will be held at Glencoe Agricultural Hall,  268 Currie Street, Glencoe on Sunday, May 17, 2026 from 3-5 p.m.  Memorial donations may be made to Chase’s Education fund (cheques payable to Jennifer Graham in Trust).

Dennis Eves

Peacefully at Middlesex Terrace, Delaware on April 22 , 2026, Dennis Eves passed away in his 74th year. Beloved husband to Dorothy (nee Hibma) . Loving father to Michelle (Joe Rombouts) Eves and Angela (Timothy) Gallant. Caring grandfather “Gramps” to Dawson, Madi (Blake), Shania (Riley), Dylan, Joey (Shawn) , Cameron (Shaylin) , Lauryn ( Sebas). Dennis will be missed by his sister Sandra (Gary) Watson, his brother Gary (Lucy) Eves and by his siblings-in-law, nieces, nephews and cousins. Predeceased by his parents Lloyd and Evelyn Eves and his parents-in-law Ids and Alice Hibma. Dennis was a mechanic through and through — from the time he could walk, he always had a tool in his hand. He built a life doing what he loved.   Running Eves Auto Sales from his home and Glencoe, where he was known for selling cars, boats, and just about anything he could get his hands on.  He also did autobody, painting, licensed appraiser, licensed auctioneer, and a Used car Dealer.  He took pride in working with the OPP and local community for the preferred on call towing service he provided.  He also had a true gift as an auctioneer, especially known for his role at the Brooke Alvinston Fair, where he brought energy, laughter, and excitement while auctioning off 4-H swine and pies — something many will fondly remember.  He was a diehard Killer Bees Fan, loved being on the water, watching his girls and grandkids playing ball, and spending time with all his loved ones. Dennis loved riding his Harley, spending time on his boat “Moonliter” with his boating family and friends. He was a one-of-a-kind guy, a loving husband, father, grandfather, brother and friend. A jack of all trades! He truly will be missed by all his family and friends. Friends and family will be received at Van Heck Funeral home , Glencoe (172 Symes Street , Glencoe ) on Wednesday,  April 29th from 6-9 p.m. Please consider making a memorial donation to the Brooke-Alvinston-Inwood Community Centre Complex, a place Dennis took great pride in and was deeply connected to.

Larry Duquette

On March 28th 2026, While gentle snowflakes fell from the night sky Larry Peter Duquette took his final breath and is finally at rest. He fought hard but his body became too tired to carry on and he was granted his golden wings. He is flying high with the angels and we know he will be watching and protecting us from above. He will be lovingly remembered and forever missed by his wife Debbie, his daughters Kristinea Collins and Elizabeth Duquette and his two precious grandsons Parker and Keaton Collins. He is predeceased by his parents Ambrose and Norma Duquette, brother Remi Duquette, sister Marie Drummond.and Debbie’s parents Ray and Shirley Setterington. He is survived by his brother-in-law David Drummond, brother and sisters-in-law Dave and Marguerite Setterington, and Sharon and Larry Harbidge as well as several nieces and nephews. He leaves behind life long friends as well as newly created ones in the wonderful community “The Ridge” in West Lorne that has been home for the past 8 months. He was so proud to be part of the Four Counties Hospital family for 33 years as a medical Laboratory Technologist and Department Manager. We would like to thank his many Doctors and their staff, Vital Aire, Glencoe Guardian Pharmacy, Ontario Health at Home, Care Partners staff and especially the PCOT team whose dedication and compassion was unwavering. As per Larry’s wishes cremation has taken place and burial will take place at a later date. Visitation will be held at the Van Heck Funeral Home 172 Symes Street, Glencoe, Ontario on Saturday, April 4th from 11 a.m. to 12 noon with the funeral service immediately following. Our dear friend Reverend Deb Dolbear-Van Bilsen will be officiating. Donations can be made to the Southwest Middlesex Animal Shelter or Canadian Pulmonary Fibrosis Foundation.

Margaret McCahon

Surrounded by family at Babcock Community Care Centre, Wardsville  on Tuesday, March 24, 2026 Margaret Christina McCahon of Wardsville passed away in her 101st  year.  Predeceased by her beloved husband John (2013) and her brother and best friend Archie Stewart (1950).  Survived by 2 sisters-in-law Judy McCahon and Grace McCahon.  Loved and adored by several nieces, nephews, cousins and special friend Darlene Pinter.  In keeping with Margaret’s wishes cremation has taken place and a private interment will be at Riverview Cemetery, Wallaceburg.  Memorial donations may be made to Chatham Kent Health Alliance Foundation (Sydenham Wallaceburg) or Four Counties Health Services Foundation.

Bryan Nelson (Updated)

After a long and courageous battle with cancer at his home in Glencoe, Bryan Robert Nelson passed away peacefully on November 27, 2025 in his 79th year. Loving and devoted partner to Shirley Young. Dear father to Rhoni (Aaron) and Rick (Cynthia) of Alberta who were able to be with Bryan for his final journey. Grandpa to Victoria and Justin and great-grandpa to Griffin, Isabel and Hazel. Bryan will be missed by Shirley’s family; Terri (Kevin) Pitt, Ryan, Matt, Ally (Kyle)  and  Sheri (Jamie) Squire, Shane, Morgan (Dalton) , Melissa (Logan), Cole , Jesse (Ashley) Jayden, Lily. Bryan was a retired Local 488 Edmonton Pipefitter and worked in the oil sands for many years. His greatest passion was golfing, he could always be found at the Wardsville Golf Course. Following Bryan’s wishes cremation has taken place and a private family graveside will be held at Oakland Cemetery, Glencoe. A Celebration of life will be held on Sunday, March 29th from 1-4p.m. at the Wardsville Golf Course. A special thank-you to Bryan’s care co-ordinator Briana and Ontario Health at Home.
