Peacefully at his home in Alvinston, surrounded by his loved ones, on Friday April 7th, Robert Allan “Bob” Redick passed away in his 72nd year. Survived by his loving wife Anne (Patterson) and the joy of his life, his granddaughter Kaitlyn Redick Cable and sisters-in-law, Pat Redick, Evelyn (Steve) Souwand and brother-in-law Don Sutherland. Precious uncle to many nieces and nephews. Bob will be missed by his many friends and neighbours. Predeceased by his son Kevin, parents Charles and Ioleen, siblings Bill (Diane), Doug and Nina and his in-laws Neil and Jean Patterson. Bob was retired from Polysar. He served on the Alvinston Fire Department for 26 years, Alvinston Town Council and was the charter president of Alvinston Districts Optimist Club. Relatives and friends will be received at the Van Heck Funeral Home, 3232 River Street, Alvinston on Monday from 2-4 & 7-9 p.m. where the funeral service will be held on Tuesday, April 11 at 11 a.m. Rev. Jo-Anne Symington officiating. Interment to follow at the Alvinston Cemetery. Memorial donations may be made to the Optimist Fundraiser, “Raise the Roost Campaign” (cheques payable to the Municipality of Brooke/Alvinston) or Alvinston Cemetery Board.
