Surrounded by family, Robert Alexander “Bob” passed away on Saturday March 25, 2023, in his 90th year. Bob is survived by his loving wife of 64 years Jeanne (McDonald). Beloved father to Dean (Janice Davis), Lori, and Greg (Mireille Cyr). Also survived by one sister Ruth Coulthard. He was predeceased by parents Alex and Edith, and sisters Irene Carruthers and Margaret McPherson. Uncle and brother-in-law to many. Bob was a long time resident of Glencoe, Ontario and spent a lifetime in farming, finally retiring at age 78. Bob was involved with farm co-operatives in the 1970’s and 1980’s, spending time as a director of the United Cooperatives of Ontario and Co-operators Insurance and sat on the Farm Products Marketing Board of Ontario. Bob was involved with many local organizations, such as Lorne Masonic Lodge and Trinity United Church, Glencoe. Bob was involved in athletics from a young age, playing hockey and baseball in local organizations, and continued this as an adult. Bob was a long-time die-hard fan of the Toronto Blue Jays. The family would like to extend its sincere appreciation to the staff at University Hospital, most notably the cardiac unit, for their many years of care and compassion. A private family service will be held at a later date. Memorial donations may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation.
