It is with heavy hearts that we announce the peaceful passing of John “Keith” Telfer, who passed away at Trenton Memorial Hospital on Saturday, July 12th, 2025, in his 75th year. Cherished son of the late John and Audrey Telfer. Beloved husband of the late Deborah “Debi” Telfer (née Lesage), who predeceased him in 2024, and predeceased by his son, John D. Telfer (2021). Keith will be fondly remembered by his sister Donna Wilson of London, Ontario, and his brother-in-law Ken Lesage (Holly) of Calgary. He was also loved by his nephews Roger Leitch, Ralph Leitch, Jason Lesage, and their families. He was predeceased by brothers-in-law Bruce Leitch and Ken Wilson. Keith proudly served 30 years in the Regular Force and five years in the Air Reserves with the Royal Canadian Air Force. He dedicated 17 years as a Loadmaster on the CC-130 Hercules, flying 6,600 hours around the world, with postings at 2 Air Movement Squadron, Dana, Sioux Lookout, and 436, 435, and 429 Squadrons. He served in the Gulf War and completed a six-month tour in Cyprus. Keith will be remembered as a true professional and for his special concern for veterans’ forgotten graves. A graveside gathering will be held on Saturday, October 11th, 2025, at 1:00 p.m. at Oakland Cemetery, Glencoe, Ontario, where Keith will be laid to rest alongside his beloved wife Debi and son JD.
