Peacefully surrounded by family at Four Counties Health Services, Newbury, Elizabeth Anne “Mitch” Findlay passed away on Tuesday, September 5, 2023 in her 94th year. Predeceased by her husband Bob (1971) and her parents Anne and Archie Mitchell. Loved by her children Mary Anne (Dan) Stuckless, Gary, John (Karen), Brian and Paul (Lori Van Geffen). Cherished Nana to Lyndsay (John), Ashley (Craig), Arianne (Mark), Erica, Tanner (Cody), Dylan (Laura), Alexandra, Malia, Matthew, Megan (Jeremy), Alex, Rachel and Great Nana to Kyla, Carly, Avery, Brooklyn and Nolan. She will be missed by many cousins and special friends Penny, Darlene and P.S.W. Nikki. Mitch graduated Victoria Hospital School of Nursing in 1951 as an R.N. and Western University in 1958 as an P.H.N. She nursed in Toronto , Timmins and London throughout her career and retired in 1988 from the MLHU. She loved to travel and enjoyed winter sports. Following Mitch’s wishes cremation has taken place. A Celebration of Life will be held at Van Heck Funeral Home, Glencoe at 11:30 a.m. on Friday September 8th, 2023 with visitation 1 hour prior (10:30 a.m.). Rev. Deb Dolbear-Van Bilsen officiating with private inurnment at Mount Pleasant Cemetery at a later date. Memorial donations may be made to Make-A-Wish Canada or Canadian Guide Dogs for the Blind (CGDB).
