To friends and strangers alike, he was a friendly face you could always count on and had a natural gift for making people feel welcomed and at home.   A private family service will be held at the Van Heck Funeral Home, Glencoe with interment at Oakland Cemetery.  A Celebration of Life will be held at the Glencoe Agricultural Hall, 268 Currie Street, Glencoe on Sunday, July 27 from 2:30 to 5:00 p.m. with a Legion Service at 2:30.  Family and friends are invited to gather, share stories, laughter and raise a glass of Molson Canadian – his favourite – to toast a life well-lived and a spirit that will never be forgotten.  Memorial donations may be made to Four Counties Health Services Foundation or Glencoe Presbyterian Church.  The Allan family wishes to express their appreciation to Dr. Lavasova, Dr. Wang, Dr. Bean and Dr. Gunn and all the nursing staff on 2 South at Strathroy Middlesex General Hospital for their outstanding care and compassion.
