At Four Counties Health Services, Newbury on Thursday, December 31, 2015, Irene Roberta Carruthers (nee Coulthard) of Glencoe passed away at the age of 92. Survived by her sons, Ian (Carol), Douglas (Christine) and David (Jacky), grandchildren, Kevin (Anne), Kim, Sean (Alysha) and Erica (Adam) several great grandchildren and step grandchildren, her sister Ruth Coulthard and brother Robert (Jeanne) Coulthard as well as several nieces and nephews. Predeceased by husbands Christopher Carruthers (1979) and Raymond Brown (1991) an infant son in 1948, daughter Margaret Carruthers (2011) and sister Margaret McPherson. Irene was a retired teacher and RNA. She was active in her church and in the Glencoe community for many years. Relatives and friends will be received at the Van Heck Funeral Home, 172 Symes Street, Glencoe on Tuesday evening from 7-9 p.m. where the Memorial service will be held on Wednesday, January 6, 2016 at 1:30 p.m. Rev. Cheryl Bolton officiating. Interment at Oakland Cemetery at a later date. Memorial donations may be made to Trinity United Church or Four Counties Health Services Foundation.
