McKinlay for nearly 70 years. Dear mother of Burton (Marilyn) McKinlay of Alvinston and Joan (Mitch) Kennedy of Milton. Loved by her grandchildren Adam (Lucy) McKinlay of Toronto, Christine (Rod) Smith of Embro and Robert McKinlay of Vancouver and her great-grandchildren Clara Rose and Dean Smith. Also survived by her brother Robert Chapman of Petrolia and brother-in-law Norman McKinlay of Cambridge, several nieces and nephews and many long time friends. Predeceased by her brother Burton chapman. Ruth was the proud matriarch of her family, loving to cook and bake for them. She served her community and church and was an active partner in the Century farming operation. She and Don loved to travel and also spent winters in Florida for over 30 years. Relatives and friends will be received at the Van Heck Funeral Home, 3232 River Street, Alvinston on Tuesday from 2-4 & 7-9 p.m. where the funeral service will be held on Wednesday, September 28 at 11 a.m. Rev. Jim Breen officiating. Interment to follow at the Alvinston Cemetery. Memorial donations may be made to Hope United Church, Alvinston.
