With heavy hearts, the family of Ronald “Sam” Lee Munro of Alvinston announce his passing on Wednesday, May 21, 2025 in his 89th year, after a brief battle with pneumonia. Cherished husband of Marion (nee Harris) Munro for 60 years. Loving father of Diane Cullen, Jarrod Munro and Chris Patterson. Adoring grandfather to Marlieta Munro (Kyle), Bailey Cullen and Sydney Cullen. Great-grandfather to Selena, Lillian and Nola. Brother of Jennie Hystead (Dick) and brother-in-law to the Harris family. Ron will be fondly remembered by many nieces and nephews. Predeceased by his parents Jim and Dora Munro and sisters Helen (Fred) Wilson and Bernice (Neville) Mackaness. Ron spent many miles of the open road. He was an avid sports fan who played hockey and baseball in Alvinston and Appin in his youth. He will be missed by all. Visitation Monday, May 26 from 5-8 p.m. at the Van Heck Funeral Home, 172 Symes Street, Glencoe. Memorial Service Tuesday, May 27 at 11 a.m. at Guthrie Presbyterian Church, Alvinston. Inurnment to follow at the Alvinston Cemetery. Memorial donations may be made to Guthrie Presbyterian Church.
