At Babcock Community Care Centre, Wardsville, on Thursday, August 9, 2012, Marion R. McDonald of Glencoe passed away peacefully at the age of 91. Beloved wife of 60 years to the late Glen A. McDonald (2006). Predeceased by her parents Duncan and Margaret MacTavish. Loving mother of Donald (Rosemary), Robert and Ruth (George Deschamps) Proud grandmother of 9 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren. Predeceased by her sister Jean (Emerson McVicar) and brothers, John (Donna) MacTavish and Alec MacTavish. Special sister-in-law to Joyce MacTavish . Survived by several nieces and nephews and their families. Marion was an active member of the Glencoe Presbyterian Church, WMS, Willing Workers and Choir for over 50 years. She was very involved in her community including Model Women’s Institute, 4-H clubs and social events. She started her teaching career in one-room schools and retired as a principal’s relief. She never lost interest in her family’s activities, farming operation or her gardening. Relatives and friends will be received at the Van Heck Funeral Home, 172 Symes St., Glencoe on Saturday from 2-4 & 7-9 p.m. and for the hour prior to the service on Sunday at 2:00p.m. at the funeral home. Interment to follow at the Eddie Cemetery. Donations may be made in memory of Marion to Glencoe Presbyterian Church Youth Camp Fund (by cheque).
