Lois Stocking

Suddenly on July 19, 2020 at University Hospital, London, Lois Elaine Stocking (née Perry) in her 86th year went home to be with the Lord. She was a dedicated mother, grandmother, sister, and friend and is survived by her children Ruth Carmichael (Dougal) of West Lorne, Gerald Stocking (Alice) of Bothwell, Mark Stocking (Sharon) of Wardsville. She is lovingly remembered by her sister Margaret Perry of Strathroy, her brother Ken Perry (Marilyn) of Glencoe, sisters-in law Thelma Perry of Strathroy, and Nora Perry of Nairn, her grandchildren Dougal, Jeffery, Tammy, Charlie, Aaron, Caleb, and Chris, and great-grandchildren Dougal, Ella, Cam, MacKenzie, Avery, Ben, Hayden, Ronin, Keegan, and Killian. Lois is also survived by several nieces, nephews, cousins and many friends. She was predeceased by her father Albert Perry in 1992, her mother Ellen Perry (née Berdan) in 2005, her brother Robert in 2013, her brother Charlie in 2014, her son Jim in 2020, her grandson Jonathan Carmichael (2016) and great granddaughter Mekena Carmichael (2011).
Lois loved spending time with her family and friends. She had a love of music, enjoyed painting, and although she had been feeling cooped up recently, she enjoyed spending time out on her patio at the Villa Apartments. A special thanks to the staff of the Villa Apartments in Newbury, the healthcare workers at FCHS Newbury, and LHSC London for their care and dedication.
Expressions of sympathy can be made in the form of a donation to St. John’s Presbyterian Church, Wardsville where she was a long-time member. Her family has arranged visitation times for relatives and close friends at Van Heck Funeral Home, Glencoe and a graveside service will be held at the Oakland Cemetery. (Attendance is limited.
