Peacefully at Four Counties Health Services, Newbury, on Thursday, March 21, 2024, Arthur “Ross” Alward passed away in his 94th year. Survived by his wife Mary Lu Alward (nee Ryan) in their 72nd year of marriage. Dear father to Ron (Sharon), Gary (Cathryn), Rick (Angela), Mark (Karen). Cherished grandpa to Chelsey Alward (Rhean), Ashley Alward, Bethany Mote, Josiah Alward (Mercedes), Timothy John Archer-Alward. Ross will be missed by his several great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. Ross enjoyed many visits recently with nieces Sheila Hetherington-Sanders, Sharon Hetherington and Deanna Davis. Predeceased by his son Timothy Ross Alward (1974) his sisters Mary, Dorothy, Ida and his parents Arthur Lloyd Alward and Clara Drake. Ross was well known in the Glencoe area for installing miles of farm drainage on local farms, and for his excellent billiard skills at the pool hall. Cremation has taken place and a private family service will be held at a later date. Memorial Donations may be made to Faith Pentecostal Assembly.
