With heartfelt sympathy, the family announces the passing of Muriel Violet Thompkins (nee Brockett), surrounded by family at Four Counties Health Services, Newbury on Sunday, July 28th, 2024 in her 88th year. Predeceased by her husband Richard “Dick” Thompkins (1997) and her son Mark Thompkins (2020). Cherished mother of Julie (Jim) Dedels, Richard Wm. (Mary) Thompkins, and Nancy (Ron) Teather. Dear nana of Jennifer, Nicole (Shane), Kyle (Miranda), Trevor (Sara) and great-nana to Lauren, Rebecca, Payton, Kendra, Parker, Dallas, and Boone. Muriel will be missed by her sister-in-law Alberta Godson. Relatives and friends will be received at the Van Heck Funeral Home, 172 Symes Steet, Glencoe on Wednesday July 31 from 6p.m. – 8p.m. where the funeral service will be held on Thursday August 1st at 11a.m. Rev. Deb Dolbear-Van Bilsen officiating and interment at Oakland Cemetery. Memorial donations may be made to Four Counties Health Services Foundation – Palliative Care.
