It is with great sadness we announce the peaceful passing of our mother, Mary Katherine (McLean) McKellar on October 25, 2014 at Beattie Haven, Wardsville, ON. Beloved wife of the late Archie McKellar (2003). Loving mother of Katherine (Tom) Brier of Calgary; Elizabeth McKellar of Calgary; Jim (Judy) McKellar of Glencoe; and Grant McKellar of London. Cherished grandmother of Aleisha Brier, Andrew Brier, Courtney (Justin) Bailey, Kaleigh (Nicholas) Chelmak, Matthew (Carolynn) McKellar. Fondly remembered by her sister-in-law Louise McLean and many nieces and nephews. Daughter of the late Archie and Jean (McDermid) McLean, she was born in London, ON, March 11, 1925. She was predeceased by her brother Murray (1982). Mary will be forever remembered for her love of family. A talented cook, her greatest joys were family dinners and lively discussions around the table. An active community volunteer and life long member of Burns Presbyterian Church, she was also a founding member of the Glencoe Historical Society being an expert on family and local history. An avid reader, Mary read countless books and followed world and community news events with a keen interest. A Funeral service will be held on Tuesday, October 28, 2014 at Burns Mosa Presbyterian Church, (Kilmartin), at 1:30pm, with visitation from 12:30 – 1:30pm. Rev. Charlotte Brown to officiate with interment to follow at Kilmartin Cemetery. Memorial donations may be made to Beattie Haven Retirement Community or Burns Mosa Presbyterian Church.
