Kenneth Hector McCallum formerly of Ekfrid Township passed away peacefully in his 92ndyear at Strathmere Lodge, Strathroy on Sunday, April 28, 2019, surrounded by dear friends. Ken was the son of the late Archie and Katherine (McTaggart) McCallum. Ken lived and farmed all of his life on the family homestead in Southwest Middlesex until moving to Strathroy. Ken took a keen interest in the events of his community and was extremely proud of his involvement in the 2002 International Plowing Match when he conceived and had constructed a spectacular flowerbed at the corner of Dundonald Road and Century Drive, which he maintained for nearly a decade. In keeping with Ken’s wishes, a graveside service will be held on Thursday, May 2, 2019 at 11a.m. at the McCallum family plot in Oakland Cemetery, Rev. Deb Dolbear-VanBilsen officiating. Memorial donations in Ken’s memory may be made to Strathmere Lodge or the charity of your choice.
