Joan Whitlock

Peacefully at Bobier Villa Dutton on Thursday, May 16, 2024, with her family by her side, Marilyn “Joan” Whitlock (Little) of Glencoe passed away in her 86th year.  Beloved wife of Bev Whitlock for 62 years.  Dear mother of Cathy Whitlock (Randy Martin), Heather (Mike) Frappier and Susan (Bill) Prout and the late Cheryl Lynn (1966).  Loved by her grandchildren Eli Martin, Hannah Martin (Carlo), Heidi Martin, Alexandra (Jamie) Clayton, Andre (Sabrina) Frappier, Paxton (Tyler) Moniz, Skylar Keating (Chad), Jayden and Ethan Keating and her great- grandchildren Addilyn, Everley, Lennon, Jagger, Hayes and Luca.   Also survived by her sister-in-law Phyllis Little and her nephews John, David and Bill Little and their families.  Predeceased by her brother Jack Little. Joan was a community person and in earlier years she was involved with Glencoe Figure Skating Club, Skate Canada, Women’s Institute, U.C.W., Canadian Cancer Society, Glencoe and District Historical Society and was a proud Shriner’s Wife.  She supported Bev in all his endeavours as well. Joan received the United Church Women of Distinction Award and was the dedicated Secretary/Treasurer of the Oakland Cemetery for 32 years. Visitation will be held on Monday, May 20th from 5-8 p.m. at the Van Heck Funeral Home, 172 Symes Street, Glencoe where the funeral service will be held on Tuesday May 21 at 11 a.m.  Rev. Deb Dolbear-Van Bilsen officiating. Interment to follow at the Oakland Cemetery.  Memorial donations may be made to Alzheimer Society Southwest Partners, Glencoe Presbyterian Church or Bobier Villa (Recreation Department)
