Jim Thornicroft

It is with profound sadness that we announce Jim’s passing after a courageous battle with cancer, on Saturday, March 16, 2019. Jim (Chop/Pops) will be greatly missed by his loving wife Barbara, mother Helen,  cherished daughter Tracy (Grant), stepson Michael (Lisa), stepdaughter Michelle (Richard), his grandchildren Kyle (Paige), Cassandra (Ryan), Tiffany (Nick), Jairen (Ivy), True (Travis), Connor, Christina, sister Nancy (Ian), Aunt Lois, as well as his 7 great-grandchildren, many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Predeceased by his father Evan Chester, sons Troy and Trevor, and past wife Brenda (nee Ritchie.) Jim retired from Hydro One after 44 years, Jim proudly served as member, Past President and Zone A1 Sports Officer with Royal Canadian Legion, Branch #219, Glencoe since 1984. Jim met many lifelong friends who shared his love of darts, Nascar and fishing. His final resting place will be beside his beloved sons at Oakland Cemetery, Glencoe, ON. Thank you to the Victoria Campus, London Health Sciences Centre for their exceptional care and compassion. An open celebration of Jim’s life will be held at the Royal Canadian Legion Branch #219, 156 McRae St, Glencoe, ON at 12pm on Wednesday, March 20, 2019. In lieu of flowers, donations are appreciated to the Royal Canadian Legion Branch #219.
