It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of a dear mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. Helen Mary Pustay of Glencoe, died peacefully on Tuesday, April 28, 2015 at Four Counties Health Services. She was in her 83rd year. She is the beloved wife of Steve, and loving mother of Ann and Bill Edwards of Glencoe, Ed and Julie Pustay of Mt. Brydges and Cindy and Fred Staels of Newbury. She was a very proud grandmother to Ryan and Jen Edwards of Toronto, Kelly and Richard Galbraith of Appin, Brendan Edwards of London, Sarah (Jared) and Haley Pustay of Mt. Brydges, Nathan (Brittany), Justin (Megan) and Jordan (Sandee) Staels of Newbury. She is a special Great-grandmother to Charlotte and Sophie Edwards and Ryerson and Kennedy Galbraith. Helen is predeceased by her 2 brothers and a sister in Slovakia. She is also survived by her brother-in law, Peter Pustay and his wife Joyce of Kanata, and her sister-in law Mary Janicek of Oil Springs. Steve and Helen lived in the farming community of Model Centre for 54 years. Even after moving into town, they always felt part of the community they left behind. Steve and Helen celebrated their 66th wedding anniversary in February. Helen enjoyed playing cards with her friends at Millstone Manor and the Horizons Senior Centre. She always looked forward to family get-togethers so that she could serve her famous cabbage rolls and pastries. Visitation will be held at Van Heck Funeral Home, 172 Symes Street, Glencoe Thursday from 7 to 9 p.m. Mass of the Resurrection will be celebrated at St. Charles Garnier Church, 244 Stella St. Glencoe on Friday May 1st at 11am. Rev. D. Matthew Bedard officiating. Interment at North American Martyrs Cemetery. Memorial donations may be made to St. Charles Building Fund or Four Counties Health Services Foundation.
