Antonia Coad

Peacefully on Thursday, July 11, 2024 at St. Joseph’s Hospice of London with family by her side, Toni Coad (Brnka) of Glencoe in her 96th year, now shares a special place in Heaven with her husband Duncan (1982). Toni was the second of five daughters born to Joseph and Elizabeth (Marko) Brnka who immigrated from Czechoslovakia. She will be deeply missed and forever loved by her daughter Laurie and husband Mike Lefave of Dorchester and her grandchildren Robert (Brooke) and Michelle who she both adored. Toni leaves behind two loving sisters and brother-in-law, Ella Bindner of Sarnia and Fran (Bill) Galbraith of Glencoe. She is survived also by brother-in-law Don (Mary) Coad of Glencoe. Her many nieces and nephews and great-nieces and nephews will sadly miss her joy of sharing scratch tickets and freshly baked cookies. Toni will be eternally reunited with her sisters and brothers-in-law Mary (Clarence) Coad, Josie (Joe) Beaudette and Bob Bindner and predeceased also by sisters-in-law Mary Urquhart, Isabel Coad, Margaret Johnson, Georgina McWilliam and Jean Butler. Toni will be remembered for her love of cooking, quilting, gardening, sports, Sunday drives and spending time with family having coffee or delicious meals. She also greatly enjoyed the companionship of many pets over the years. Her family expresses sincere gratitude to her compassionate palliative care team at home and St. Joseph’s Hospice and to family and friends for their thoughtfulness. A private family funeral and interment at Oakland Cemetery is being held. Memorial donations to St. Joseph’s Hospice of London are greatly appreciated.
